Perlis Allows More People To Pray At Mosques Starting 5 June

Starting 5 June, Perlis will allow more people to congregate and perform their prayers at the mosque for daily and Friday prayers.
For daily prayers, it will be will be restricted to only 12 people while up to 30 can join for Friday prayers, according to Perlis Islamic Religous and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs).
The agency said the decision was made after obtaining consent from Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail.
MAIPs president Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail said individuals allowed to participate are determined by the mosque committee and added that qualifications should include not having any symptoms such as fever, shortness of breath, sore throat and flu.
The prayers will be monitored by two police officers, according to the agency, and if the situation is under control, they too can join for prayers as well.
He also added those allowed to perform the prayers must adhere to preventive measures and any guidelines violations can result in the permission being withdrawn.
