According to Health Director-General Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, we don’t really need to be wearing a face mask when we’re alone, outdoors.
Specifically, the DG said that people who are out doing activities such as jogging or driving a vehicle, alone, are not really required to wear such protective respiratory equipment.
The doctor explains that although wearing face masks out in public is recommended to prevent the spread of Covid-19, if you are out alone and away from other people, you can essentially put the mask down and more or less, savor the breath of fresh air.
The need for a face mask is to break the Covid-19 chain, but if one is jogging in a place with no people, there is no need to wear. Just ensure there is a two to three meters distance from other joggers. Similarly, when driving alone, there is no need to wear a mask.
