Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has responded to the issue regarding the sacking of 5 Bersatu members by saying that the party is disappointed in their Chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who chose to side with Pakatan Harapan.

He then wished the former premier “good luck” and urged Bersatu members to stay calm within this period of time.

Muhyiddin also explained that the party didn’t sack Dr Mahathir along with Mukhriz Mahathir, Maszlee Malik, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and Amiruddin Hamzah but their membership has been nullified because they’ve breached the party’s constitution.

I want to be fair to all parties and ensure that every decision made is based on the party’s constitution. There are no individuals who are above the party’s consitution.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin

Recently, the party announced the sacking of the 5 Bersatu members which prompted Dr Mahathir to make a surprise appearance at their headquarters demanding that the decision be made in person.
