Negeri Sembilan’s Dengue Cases More Than Last Year, Authorities Say

There has been an increase of 11.6% in the number of cumulative dengue cases in Negeri Sembilan this year, between January and 23 May, as the state recorded 1,138 cases compared to 1,020 in the same period last year.

Below are the number of cases according to district:

  • Seremban (937)
  • Port Dickson (48)
  • Rembau (47)
  • Tampin (38)
  • Jempol (33)
  • Kuala Pilah (19)
  • Jelebu (16)

State Health, Environment, Cooperatives and Consumerism Committee chairman S. Veerapan said from May 17 to May 23, a total of 64 cases were recorded.

According to reports from Malay Mail, one death due to dengue was reported in Seremban, bringing the death toll to 4 as of 23 May, compared to 5 deaths recorded in the same period.

It’s also reported that there are 21 active localities in Seremban, and one each in Rembau and Kuala Pilah.
