Covid-19: PM Under Quarantine After Attending Meeting With Staff Who Tested Positive

The Prime Minister’s Department has released a statement notifying that Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has been placed under 14 days quarantine after attending a meeting with an officer who has tested positive for Covid-19.

According to the statement, he attended the post-Cabinet meeting on 20th May at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has since been tested for the virus this morning and confirmed negative. Nonetheless, he is now under quarantine at home for 14 days in accordance with Supervision and Observation at Home Order under Section 15(1) Prevention And Control Of Infectious Disease Act 1988 (Act 342).

All attendees of the meeting have been instructed to quarantine at home from today onwards as well.

The statement also points out that strict hygiene and social distancing is adhered to at all times for every meeting at the PMO.

Muhyiddin’s quarantine is expected to end on 5th June 2020.
