Covid-19 frontliners might be able to go on leave on a rotation basis for Aidilfitri, according to Ministry of Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

This is after the country has managed to keep the virus relatively at bay with Malaysia now recording double digit increases in the number of cases daily.

However, Dr Noor Hisham said, this may change if there’s changes in the outbreak situation.

It would also depend on the outcome of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) which started on 4 May and Dr Noor Hisham said that 18 May is when the Ministry will know whether there’s an increase or decrease in the number of cases.

He said the Ministry is currently monitoring the situation daily and if the trend continues, then hospital and clinic staff who are involved with treating Covid-19 patients can be given leave in stages.
