With Only 16 New Cases, Malaysia Sees Lowest Daily Covid-19 Cases Since MCO

Just as Malaysia enters a new phase of the Conditional Movement Control (CMCO), we’re greeted with good news.
At the daily Covid-19 press conference on 12th May, Health Director General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah revealed that Malaysia records 16 new Covid-19 cases, the lowest daily number since the Movement Control Order (MCO) began on 18th March.
Of the 6 new cases, Dr Noor Hisham explained that three are import cases involving returnees from the United Kingdom, Singapore and Japan. Of the 13 local cases, 9 of the infected are foreigners.

100 patients have also been discharged, bringing the tally of recovered patients to 5,223, indicating an encouraging recovery rate of 77.47%.
What’s more, no new deaths were recorded. Malaysia’s death toll remains at 109.
Malaysia’s total confirmed Covid-19 cases currently stands at 6,742 with 1,410 active cases.
