Malaysia’s Covid-19 Red Zones Rises To 11 After Rembau Sub-Cluster Emerges

Malaysia’s Covid-19 red zones rises to 11 areas following the emergence of a sub-cluster in Rembau district that involves 60 workers at a Pedas factory in Negeri Sembilan.
Cases numbers released by the Health Ministry at noon today (9th May) show that Rembau district has 59 active Covid-19 cases.
According to the Health Ministry, one patient from this sub-cluster has healed while 59 patients are still infectious.
Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham told reporters yesterday that the ministry is still investigating the cause of this cluster after a worker tested positive on 12th April after having multiple symptoms including headache, flu, fever and cough.
As of noon, 8th May, Malaysia’s active Covid-19 red zones are:
- Ibu Kota, KL – 144 active cases
- Batu – 101 active cases
- Kuching – 100 active cases
- Gombak – 80 active cases
- Kampung Bharu – 67 active cases
- Rembau – 59 active cases
- Hulu Langat – 55 active cases
- Petaling – 53 active cases
- Kluang – 49 active cases
- Kota Samarahan – 43 active cases
- Sri Petaling – 45 active cases
Malaysia records a total of 6,535 Covid-19 cases with 1,564 currently active cases.
