SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19 has been found in the semen of some male patients, according to studies conducted by researchers in China.

China’s Shangqiu Hospital tested 38 men who were hospitalised with the disease and found that 6 of them or 16% have traces of Sars-CoV-2 in their semen.

However, the findings are in the early stages and researchers think that more testing should be conducted to see if sexual transmission has an effect on the current pandemic.

Some experts have also pointed out that similar tests have been done before where the results came out negative.

Currently, the coronavirus has been detected in stool, gastrointestinal tract, saliva and urine samples.
