A single mother of a 6-year-old child was sentenced to 30 days in jail on 21st April for violating the Movement Control Order (MCO).

The offence was committed at Taman Subang Mas in Subang Jaya around 5pm on 12th April.

FMT reported that B Lisa Christina pleaded guilty to the charge and received jail time. However, two others who were charged at the same were only fined the maximum RM1,000.

Based on this disparity in sentencing, Lisa is now seeking a review of her case,

With the Selangor Legal Aid Centre on her side, the revision application has been filed and a High Court judge in Shah Alam will hear the case tomorrow.

Under Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas) Regulations, offenders found guilty were liable to a fine up to RM1,000, or maximum 6 months imprisonment, or both.
