The Ministry of Health has drafted Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all the industries in Malaysia but sectors will be opened gradually, said Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said priority would be given out to the construction and big industries before allowing sectors such as services and transportation to operate.
Dr Noor Hisham also said that currently Malaysia is in the recovery stage and said the Ministry is encouraging the economy to be restarted, but it should be done in stages.
He also added that companies must adhere to the health ministry’s SOP such as screening; taking temperatures of employees; ensuring adequate space for employees; prohibiting assemblies in the workplace area; social distancing and also ensure workers always wash their hands using water and soap or hand sanitizers.
These are the new norms we want Malaysians to adopt not only during the Movement Control Order (MCO) but after that as well.

Earlier, the government announced that companies under the economic sectors that are permitted to operate during the MCO are to resume their operations starting 29 April.
International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said companies which do not comply with the SOP set by MoH will face immediate revocation and also legal action.
Recently, the government listed 15 essential services that can operate during the MCO.
