It seems that the government is in the middle of working on a standard operating procedure (SOP) to help students stuck in green zones who need to travel to their homes which are in red zones, and vice-versa.

Senior Minister (Defence) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob told the reporters this after he monitored the return University Malaya (UM) students to their homes on 27 April.

We are looking into the best possible way to help these students so that they too can return to their hometowns.

In case you weren’t sure, areas with no reported Covid-19 cases are categorised as green zones while areas with more than 40 positive cases are categorised as red zones.

The government has already started sending students who study and live in green zone areas back home and is currently focusing on completing this process.

Previously, Ismail Sabri told reporters that a total of 1,128 university students will be sent home in the next 24 hours.
