3 additional sub-sectors have been added to the government’s “green list” of essential services that are allowed to operate during the 3rd phase of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

The services are as followed:

  1. Hardware stores
  2. Electronic stores (excluding telecommunications and IT gadgets shops)
  3. Full laundry services

According to the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) businesses that would like to open during the lockdown period must submit their application to the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) via its official website and must meet strict guidelines and requirements set by the authorities.

Previously, the government had agreed to let additional industries to begin operations during the MCO, in phases.

However, businesses were only allowed to open in green zone areas and places not enforced under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).
