Our own Health director-general, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has been named as one of the top three doctors in the world, battling the Covid-19 pandemic.
The recognition was given by China Global TV Network, which spoke of Dr Noor Hisham’s straightforward and calm approach to handling the Covid-19 outbreak in Malaysia on its website.
According to CGTN, hardly anyone was aware of Dr Noor Hisham a few months ago, but now he has become the most “trustable†source of information and facts on the pandemic in their own country.
Every time I see Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, I feel reassured. The man has been a tower of strength for many Malaysians.

Dr Noor Hisham was crowned the title alongside the United States’ Dr Anthony Fauci and New Zealand’s Dr Ashley Bloomfield.
CGTN wrote that Dr Anthony is the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAD), while Dr Ashley is the director-general of health in New Zealand.
Dr Noor Hisham has since been receiving congratulatory messages for the acknowledgement.
