At a time when many Malaysian companies are struggling to cope with Covid-19, one organisation seems to defy the odds as their stocks jumped by 790% in the past year.

How did they do it? By helping other companies save electricity.

Last year, Kejuruteraan Asastera Berhad started to offer energy-serving to hotels and offices which turned out to be a smart move because The Edge reported it helped the company reach an order book of RM355 million.

It’s enough to provide them with revenue for more than 2 years even even though the Movement Control Order (MCO) is currently in effect, temporarily halting almost all business activities, which includes theirs.

Kejuruteraan Asastera even sees this temporary closure as an opportunity to grow even more as they see that companies affected by the coronavirus will be looking to try and save more electricity to reduce costs.

They plan to market their solutions to the hospitality industry, a sector which has been badly hit by the pandemic.
