Our king and queen have decided to waive their royal emoluments to help ease the burden of the government in its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Through their royal comptroller, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’yatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and his queen, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah announced that will forgo their monthly stipend for six months starting from March 2020. ÂÂ
This reflects the concern of Their Majesties on the lastest developments of the pandemic and the financial situation of the country.

The decision is in line with the Cabinet’s move to cut the prime minister, ministers and deputy ministers’ salary for two months so that the funds can be redirected to the government’s Covid-19 Fund.
