A two-week Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) has been issued for Menara City One after 17 Covid-19 cases were reported in the building.
Malay Mail reports that the condominium at Jalan Munshi Abdullah is the first condominium to be on lock down in Malaysia.
Effective midnight tonight (31st March), the 3,200 residents and visitors in the areas are subject to house curfew, while non-locals are not allowed in with all entry points blocked. Police officers, Armed Forces, Civil Defence Force, and People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA) personnel will be stationed at the building to enforce the order.
All business activities at the building, except for stores selling essential goods, are stopped during the two-week period and a medical base will be set up.
However, residents can order food to be delivered at the lobby.
This EMCO is the latest following Simpang Renggam in Johor and 7 villages in Hulu Langat, Selangor.
