These KTMB Services Will Be Suspended From Wednesday

In another move to curb the movements of Malaysians during the 2-week restricted movement order (RMO), Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced that it will be suspending some of its services.

From Wednesday (25th March) onwards, the interstate and intercity train services will cease to operate, affecting the Ekspres Rakyat Timuran, Ekspres Selatan and the Tebrau Shuttle services until the end of the RMO.

According to New Straits Times, KTMB chief executive officer Datuk Ir Kamarulzaman Zainal explained that only two ETS (Electric Train Service) and two intercity services would remain in daily operation.

That’s not all though, several other train services are also affected by the RMO with reduced operations:

  • KTM Komuter – reduced to 49 services a day for the Klang Valley and north sector
  • Skypark Link – reduced to 4 services daily
  • Express Rail Link (ERL) – KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit combined service at 30-minute intervals, 6 am – 10 am & 5 pm – 10 pm daily
  • LRT, MRT, monorail – Off peak 30-minutes and peak 10-minute intervals, 6 am – 10 am & 5 pm – 10 pm daily
