Muhyiddin Urging Malaysians To Stay At Home During Movement Control Order
“Just stay at home” said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on the first day of the movement control order.
He made an appearance on national media on Wednesday night to remind Malaysians to stay in their homes within the two week period to curb the spread of Covid 19.
For the next two weeks, Malaysians have to stay at home, just stay at home, spend time with your children, wife and family, you don’t need to go out. This way you can avoid Covid-19 and the spread of the disease can be suppressed. That’s the reason why the movement control order was implemented.

Muhyiddin has also warned against hanging out in public as a preventive measure and mentioned that ceremonies such as weddings should be put on hold until the situation subsides.
He also commented on the surge of people trying to go back to their hometowns after the announcement was made.
I urge all of you to stay put where you are, if you’re in Kuala Lumpur, stay in Kuala Lumpur, if you’re in Penang, stay in Penang, if you’re planning to go back to your kampung, cancel your plans for now at least for these two weeks. Why? It’s to break the chain of infection, we want to break the chain of infection so the number of infections can decrease.

If Malaysia fails to curb the infection within these two weeks, Muhyiddin said there is a possibility that movement control period could be extended further.
The latest figures show that 117 new infections have been recorded in the country, bringing the number of cases to 790.
