Ex-Health Minister Dr Dzul Appointed To Lead Selangor’s COVID-19 Special Action Council

It’s no doubt that the Health Ministry, under Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad’s lead, did an excellent job at containing the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Malaysia.

His hard work has appeared to catch the attention of Selangor authorities as the former health minister has reportedly just been appointed as the chairman of Selangor’s new special action council for the control and prevention of COVID-19.

Tasked to find ways to prevent the spread and threat of the virus on the people in Selangor, the council will consist of four health professionals and representatives of the state’s Health Department and Disaster Unit.

The council was formed after the state government found that 60% of Malaysia’s positive COVID-19 patients resided in Selangor. 

According to Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, the council will begin their work immediately. 

They will be collaborating with the Smart Selangor Command Centre to obtain information regarding high-risk locations around the state, as well as travel to schools and public areas to advocate on steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
