Water cuts in Melaka and Johor from Sept 25

You guys are gonna wanna get out your pails and start hoarding water ASAP!
The National Water Service Commission (SPAN) recently released a statement informing the public that they will be implementing a rotational water ration in Malacca and Johor.
Water rationing is being implemented as an effort to control the use of currently available water in river and dams in these states which have dwindled to critical levels.
The low levels of water have been attributed to the prolonged hot and dry weather and lack of rainfall we’ve been having since March 2019
In Malacca, water in the Durian Tunggal dam has been reported to be below critical levels while in Johor, water in the Lebam dam, Upper Layang dam, Sungai Sedili Kecil, Sungai Simpang Kiri, and Sungai Gembut have also dwindled to critical levels.
The scheduled water rationing will affect 78,405 residents living in Bandar Melaka areas beginning from September 25, 2019, and will take place on a “24 hours on/24 hours off†basis.
The water supply will be rotated between two zones affecting 313 areas as determined by Malacca Water Corporation Berhad (SAMB).

For further information regarding the water cuts, the public is advised to refer to the water operators in their respective states.
The public has also been advised to use the available water responsibly and avoid using water for less important purposes to allow the existing water supply to last longer.
FYI, the scheduled water rationing was approved by SPAN following requests by Malacca Water Corporation Berhad (SAMB) and Ranhill SAJ Sdn Bhd (Ranhill SAJ)
