Several motorists who parked near Kajang MRT station on 3 August returned to find their cars sprayed with red paint. The apparent act of vandalism has made some car owners feel unsafe to park their vehicles there.
The matter came to light after police received a report from a 48-year-old woman who was one of the victims. She parked her Perodua Myvi at the station’s parking area at about 6am and returned to collect her car at 6pm.
Suharti Jamaluddin took to Facebook to share photos of her car marked with red paint streaks on the right-side window. In her post, she claimed more than 10 cars were similarly sprayed.
Kajang district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, said the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing damage.
