Malaysia will immediately deport any Israeli national holding dual citizenship if they are found to be residing in the country, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.
Anwar said the alleged presence of Israeli nationals in Forest City is currently under investigation, stressing that the government would not compromise on matters involving national security and Malaysia’s foreign policy position.
He reiterated that Malaysia does not allow Israeli citizens to reside in the country as it does not recognise Israel and has no diplomatic relations with the country.
“They will be deported immediately if the allegations are proven true. However, all relevant agencies are already conducting investigations,” he was quoted as saying by Harian Metro.
Anwar was responding to claims regarding the existence of a private technology community known as Network School in Forest City, Johor, following allegations that Israeli citizens with dual nationality had taken up residence there.
Network School is a private residential and co-working community launched in 2024 by technology investor Balaji Srinivasan. The community targets what it describes as “techno-optimists”, offering accommodation, meals and other facilities, including gym access, for a monthly fee of US$1,500 (approximately RM6,100).
The community came under scrutiny during the recent Johor state election following claims that Israeli nationals had used their second citizenship passports to gain entry and reside within the development.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi had also raised the matter, urging the Home Ministry, Immigration Department, Royal Malaysian Customs Department, police and relevant agencies to verify the nationality status of individuals staying in the community.
He said checks were needed to determine whether any individuals had used alternative passports to enter and remain in Malaysia.
