A man who was punched by an elderly man while queuing up to buy breakfast at an eatery in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, has accepted an apology from the senior citizen.

Ahmad Zafri Samsudin shared an update on the incident that involved him and the older man.

“After three days, the result of a continous effort by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), specifically the Crime Investigation Department of the Sungai Buloh district police headquarters, the individual turned himself in to provide a statement,” said Ahmad in a Facebook post.

“With an open heart, I chose to forgive him. I did not choose violence, I chose justice,” he added.

Ahmad acknowledged that while the outcome might not be satisfying for some, he said that as a son, father, tech professional, and a private sector employee, he believes that actions based on the law is better than responding with anger.

In his post, he asks others to see what happened to him and take it as a lesson, and hopes that the incident won’t happen again.
