Nearly six months have passed since two-time former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad began undergoing physiotherapy following a hip fracture sustained after a fall in the bathroom.
Since the incident, it is understood that Dr Mahathir has been attending physiotherapy sessions almost daily. However, little has been seen of the veteran statesman in public, with most videos shared online believed to have been recorded before his injury.
Even on his social media accounts, where he remains active, Dr Mahathir has largely kept his rehabilitation process away from the public eye.
That was why a recent post by Threads user @henry_sophia1 caught the attention of many after the user managed to capture Dr Mahathir during an outing at a cafe.

Noticing that he was being filmed, Dr Mahathir responded with a warm smile and waved at the person behind the camera.
The former prime minister appeared to require a cushion for support while seated, but his cheerful demeanour suggested that he remains remarkably spirited — especially for someone set to celebrate his 101st birthday this July.
