Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says he is unfazed by the prospect of upcoming elections, insisting that the Madani government remains focused on its responsibilities.
According to The Star, Anwar, who is also the Pakatan Harapan chairman, said it is business as usual for his administration.
“Why… do I look worried? I am just focusing on my job. The problem is some people do not think about these things.
“They should be focusing on their jobs,” Anwar was quoted as saying by the English daily.
The Tambun MP was responding to questions on whether the approaching elections had caused him concern or become a distraction.
He also said the Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) government was fully within its rights to dissolve the state legislative assembly ahead of schedule.
“It is their decision. We have our own priorities. We focus on our work,” said Anwar.
The Johor state assembly was dissolved on June 1 after Johor BN chairman and caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi obtained the consent of the Regent of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

With the dissolution of the assembly, the 16th Johor state election must be held within 60 days.
Speculation is rife that Melaka will be the next state to dissolve their state legislative assembly, followed by Negeri Sembilan, before the next general election is called.
