Children Caught On Video Abusing Cat In Terengganu, Mom’s Apology Not Enough To Douse Rage

A viral video recently showed two children abusing a cat in Terengganu. One of the children pulled a rope tied around the cat’s neck, while the other child was seen kicking and hitting the cat’s head with a slipper.
The children’s mother, who allegedly became aware of the incident after viewing the same video online, has since profusely apologised.
She promised to keep a closer eye on her children and to guide them better.
Terengganu Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) said they received a large number of complaints from the public regarding the issue.
Terengganu DVS said an investigation is underway under the Animal Welfare Act 2015 (Act 772). In the meantime, they advised the public to exercise patience and not to spread speculations and unverified news about the case.
Director Dr Anun Man encourages anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to assist with the investigation.
The reaction online was a mix of fury and shock. Despite the mother’s apology, some remained firm in their refusal to forgive the children.
