Five-Year-Old Girl Safe After Being Taken During Car Theft In PJ

A couple in Petaling Jaya got the biggest scare of their lives after leaving their 5-year-old daughter in the car by the roadside to buy breakfast yesterday.
They returned only to find their car and daughter missing.
Fortunately, police was able to recover the girl safe and unharmed after three hours of searching.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsudin Mamat said the car theft occurred at 7.24am along Jalan PJS 6/4, Kampung Lindungan. The thief jumped into the car that was parked by the roadside and drove the car away with the girl inside.

The girl’s parents immediately contacted the police for help. Upon receiving the report, the police immediately launched Op Tutup to track down the stolen vehicle.
With the public’s assistance, the car was located at the Mentari Court apartment complex in Petaling Jaya.
The girl has been safely returned to her parents.
Shamsudin said the search for the perpetrator continues with investigations opened under Section 363 of the Penal Code for kidnapping.

This incident is another stark reminder to parents to not leave their children and vehicles in unsafe conditions which could lead to untoward incidents similar to this case.
