Jocelyn Chia, the comedian who got “cancelled” by many Malaysians for her rant on Malaysia vs Singapore which also included her joking about Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 is back on Instagram.

Addressing the backlash she received in a few Instagram Stories’ posts, Chia said her account was suspended for “impersonating a celebrity”.

“Rumour had it that I either deleted my IG, or that I got ‘cancelled’ by IG. My account actually got suspended for ‘impersonating a celebrity’. I was like, who is the celebrity??? Answer: Jocelyn Chia.”

Her response was attached with a few laughing emojis and Kanye West’s song Famous.

She thanked the comedy community, but with a few notable exceptions which she did not mention, saying: “Thank you. I have never loved you guys and gals more.”

She also made a joke addressing the ex-es who reached out, with Taylor Swift’s song We Are Never Getting Back Together.

Chia herself had uploaded a video of her performance at Comedy Cellar in New York on Instagram and TikTok but many slammed her for her offensive jokes.

While Chia at first had merely limited the comments on her Instagram and TikTok accounts, her Instagram account went missing yesterday, which led many to believe she had deactivated it.

Meanwhile, her TikTok account is remained active but the clip in question is no longer available.
