Family Alleges Infamous “Abang Sado” Slapped A Restaurant Worker In Tanah Rata

A driver who earned the nickname “abang sado baju merah” thanks to a video of him berating a female driver and hitting her on the head has been remanded for three days starting yesterday.

Magistrate Siti Hanum Mohmad Shah issued the remand order against the 29-year-old defendant in accordance with Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code at the Tapah Magistrate’s Court, as reported by Kosmo Online.

The suspect is a manufacturing supervisor in Serdang, Selangor. The remand order was to allow investigations to continue under Section 323, Section 506 and Section 509 of the Penal Code.

The 59-second clip showed the suspect hitting a woman on her head while using abusive language.

The suspect was arrested after the 24-year-old woman lodged a police report at the Saujana Utama Police Station, Sungai Buloh.

Many who watched the video agreed to the fact that even if the female driver had been reckless on the road, the suspect should have dealt with the situation differently.

New Allegation Surfaces

Meanwhile, an allegation surfaced that the same man had slapped a restaurant worker prior to the incident with the female driver.

According to a police report lodged by the restaurant worker, the man slapped him four times and a co-worker twice.

The allegation surfaced when another woman uploaded a video on TikTok saying she and her family allegedly witnesed the same man slap a restaurant worker.

According to the video made by TikTok user Puthrees, the incident happened while they were at a steamboat restaurant in Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands.

The woman claimed that they saw theman slapping the worker but did not want to intervene initially.

However when the man was paying for his food, he had allegedly become enraged again before throwing food and slapping a worker a few times.

Not happy with what they were seeing, the family asked the man to stop as they wanted to have their meal in peace. The family claimed that when they said they wanted to call the poliice, the man told them to stay out of his business. When one family member decided to face the man, he left.

According to Puthrees, the incident happened on 4 June.
