Clip Shows Missing Malaysian Beautician In Thailand Safe And Sound, But Mom Not Convinced

A young Malaysian woman named Angie, who went missing in Thailand, claims she is safe and sound there.

However, many are skeptical about her safety.

Twenty two year old Angie Chong Sum Yee who is a beautician from Puchong, informed her mother that she was in Thailand to work but then went unreachable.

Her mother took to Facebook to seek information about her daughter’s whereabouts.

In a surprising turn of events, Chong commented on her mother’s post through an unidentified Facebook account using the alias Moe Aye.

According to Sin Chew Daily, the videos which have since gone viral showed Chong stating that she was safe and not in any danger.

Hello, hello. Actually, I am fine. I am very safe and healthy. I didn’t get assaulted. So, my friends, family, and netizens, those who I don’t know, please don’t worry about me. I am very, very healthy.

She also mentioned that the driver who brought her to Thailand should not be bothered as he is unaware of any wrongdoing.

The three videos, which have since been reshared by the Facebook page 爱旅客- Traveller, showed Chong assuring her safety and one video depicting her supposedly working happily in Myanmar.

However, according to a report by Oriental Daily, Chong’s mother remains concerned for her daughter’s safety and fears she may have fallen victim to a job scam in Thailand or Myanmar.

Based on the surveillance footage shared by Thai media, the latest sighting of her shows her accompanied by a woman wearing white attire.

The footage captures Chong walking alongside this woman, but their destination remains unknown.

As of 8 June, Chong has not personally contacted her mother, and efforts are still underway to locate her.
