Children imitate the adults and what they see. This is why parents are often reminded to supervise what their children watch on television or online so they can explain to children the reality of things.

However, not all children are fortunate because sometimes their parents are too busy trying to make a living and may not have time to spend with their children.

On Weibo, a Shandong-based media network Shui Mu Wang reported about a four-year-old boy in China who jumped off the 26th floor using an umbrella as a parachute on Friday, 26 May.

The young boy in Jishou City, Hunan, allegedly watched Tom and Jerry cartoons for a period of time and decided to imitate the cartoon’s actions when the parents weren’t home, Oriental Daily reported.

According to Shui Mu Wang, the parents weren’t at home since the boy’s mother works in a different city while the father travels often for work.

The boy’s grandmother was allegedly out to fetch the victim’s sister at the time of the incident.

Fortunately, the boy survived but sustained a broken arm. The umbrella and the trees he landed on managed to break his fall.

Reports indicate that the boy is in stable condition and is receiving medical treatment for multiple body fractures.
