Life is filled with uncertainties and the uncertainty can bring happiness or grief.

A family was hit by tragedy when a 15-year-old girl on a bike died following an accident with another motorcycle while she was on her journey home after buying a drink for her brother.

Pictures of the incident have been going viral on social media platforms.

According to Baling District Police Chief Superintendent Shamsudin Mamat, Nur Syawani Najwa Abdul Razak, 15, of Kampung Perah, Gerik, Perak, a student at Sekolah Menengah Tunku Putera, died at the scene.

As reported by Kosmo Online, the victim, who was riding a Honda motorbike from Lata Bayu, was on her way back to her house in Kampung Asam Jawa.

“When arriving at the scene, the motorcycle the victim was riding is believed to have cut off a car, but unfortunately collided with a Honda motorcycle ridden by Nurliyana Kalbadoor A/L Hosta @ Mohd Din, 19, and her passenger, Amira Suhana Roshan, 18,” Shamsudin said as reported by Kosmo Online.

According to Shamsudin, the victim who sustained severe head injuries died at the scene while the others who suffered minor injuries were sent to the Baling Hospital for treatment.

The victim’s body was taken to the Kulim Hospital’s forensic unit for an autopsy, and the incident was investigated in accordance with Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act of 1987.

Hamidah Hambali, the victim’s 52 year old cousin, stated that Syawani was thought to have gone to a local store at the time of the incident to purchase a syrup drink for her elder brother, who himself had been injured in a motorbike accident the day before.

Hamidah said due to the hot weather, the brother requested her to buy a syrup drink for him and their 55-year-old mother, Azizah Awang, who recently had her leg amputated due to diabetes.

The family had plans to visit the victim’s twin brother who is currently pursuing his higher education in Kelantan but when asked, Syawani refused to follow them and told them that she would rather stay at home alone.
