Istana Negara via its official Facebook account recently shared a video of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah giving way to an ambulance while driving.
According to the video’s caption, at the time, the King was driving from Pekan, Pahang to Istana Abdulaziz in Kuantan.
The video was shot from within the car the King was travelling in.
Rule Nine of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 states that emergency vehicles that are on duty, which includes ambulances, have the right of way over other traffic. However, they must warn others by siren and are bound by legal responsibilities and traffic laws.
