Hari Raya Aidilfitri in Malaysia Is On Saturday

The decision on the date of Hari Raya Aidilfitri was made following the sighting of the new moon of Syawal at various locations across the country.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri in Malaysia will be celebrated on Saturday (April 22).

This means Muslims in the country will fast for a total of 30 days.

The much anticipated announcement on the date for the commencement of Syawal this year was made by Keeper of the Ruler’s Seal Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad tonight.

“…Following the consent of the rulers, I hereby declare that the date for Hari Raya Puasa for the states in Malaysia has been set for Saturday, 22 April, 2023,” he said.

The announcement was broadcast over local television networks and various social media platforms.
