7YO Girl Found At Manjung Roadside A Possible Rape Victim, Says Police

The girl was found in a dishevelled state and is believed to have been abused by her family members.

On 17 April around 11.50am, a man brought a 7-year-old girl to the Manjung police station in Perak. He found her in a dishevelled state by the roadside.

Hospital checks revealed that the girl has been raped and abused. There were traces of old and new injuries on her body.

The police arrested two men and a woman, aged between 26 and 40 years old, on the same day around 9.30pm. According to The Star, the suspects are the victim’s mother, first stepfather, and the mother’s current husband.

All three suspects had past criminal records. They are remanded until 23 April 2023 for further investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Children’s Act 2001 and Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act.

The news horrified many netizens who also expressed sympathy for the child. They also hoped the suspects will be punished.
