With Raya approaching, several advertisements will also be pouring in to usher in the festive season.
However, have you ever noticed that in all those advertisements, one particular house seems to stand out quite a bit?
As Twitter user @SalamCempreng pointed out in a tweet, this one particular house has been featured throughout the many Raya advertisements.
In his tweet he says, “It seems that the Raya 2023 ads have started flooding in, but has anyone noticed…”, indicating that this house has been used several times in ads that talk about the nostalgia of Hari Raya.

Adding on to his tweet, Azzim Zahid Azim, the founder of Bulan Bintang Clothing Sdn Bhd, said:
Our Bulan Bintang advertisement was also shot here at this house that most people go crazy about.

In his tweet, he also listed down reasons why he thinks this house has always been THE house that catches the eyes of production companies alike.
That is an authentic traditional Malay kampung house and it’s very well maintained by the owner. There is no need for any touch ups and it often matches with the specs most production companies are looking for. Plus, the back of the house is filled with coconut trees that fit the vibe.

Other reasons included it being at a strategic location that is just a one hour drive from where big brands are mostly located which then reduces the logistic costs.
Logistic costs are the reason why some advertisements become expensive. Shooting an ad takes about two to three days and with that comes the cost of having to transport the actors, the equipment as well as the crew and clients.

He also added that the house has a large spatial area that makes it easier for the crew to work when it comes to taking various shots for the ads.
The plus point here is that the owner of the house is also a very friendly guy who allows the crew members to make the necessary changes to his house (of course with the idea that we leave after restoring it back to its original look). I feel that’s why production houses like this house.

Speaking to a crew member he also shared that they mentioned that there are other prettier houses elsewhere, but the owners are strict which makes it hard for crew members to work.
For your information, the houses beside this house are also used as shooting spots and the owner of this house once informed me that those houses belong to family members. They’re all related. He mentioned that if his house was fully booked, he’d pass the interested production company to his neighbour.
