BRK… The possibilities are endless with Selangor’s new number plate series.

Social media users took to several online platforms to poke fun at this, especially since ‘BRK’ resembles certain Malay words including the word berak, which translates to poop.

Meanwhile, some users jokingly mentioned that ‘BRK’ could mean other things such as beruk (ape), borak (chat), brake, break, and buruk (bad).

According to the Road Transport Department’s (JPJ) Facebook post, the bidding started from 5 April and will end at 10pm this Sunday, 9 April.

The post also mentioned that Malaysians can place their bids on JPJ’s online auction platform, JPJ eBid, with successful bids will be announced on Monday, 10 April.

Several tickle worthy comments have also come up from netizens on social media platforms.

Twitter user @jjeology said:

Sarawak (Miri) has QMK and that has always made me giggle haha.

Another Twitter user @IzzraifHarz tweeted:

Me: I’m an adult, i should act like a grown up person. Also me: *laughing at no plate because it sounds like berak

On the other hand, Twitter user @flitz_please pointed out:

Oh come on.. we used to have BRA literally. Now I see BRA everywhere on the road.

In June last year, The Star reported that a similar advertisement for car plate number bidding by JPJ also tickled some netizens’ funny bones.

The government agency uploaded a poster on its official Facebook page, calling for bidding on the latest car plate series for Selangor, which was “BRA” which riled up netizens in a good and funny way.

Would you rather drive around with the BRA number plate or the BRK number plate?

Meanwhile, the winner is still the dude in Penang who is brave enough to get PEN 15.
