Taxi driver known as Noorazlan Ismail made headlines for walking all the way from the Skudai Toll Plaza to Istana Negara in an effort to urge the government to allow for a targeted Employees Provident Fund (EPF) withdrawal.

According to BFM, he was allowed to enter the palace gates at 11.15am on Monday to submit his memorandum to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Also present were Wan Saiful Wan Jan, the member of parliament for Tasek Gelugor and representatives of several NGOs.

However, a netizen known as @bumilangit raised questions on the inconsistency of several news reports of Noorazlan’s “EPF walk”.

It was said that he had walked 350km and the number of days he took to complete the endeavour varies from 3 days, 5 days, 6 days and 7 days. Therefore, another Twitter user @ams160 shared the journey that Noorazlan recoded and posted TikTok.

From the compilation that he posted, it can be assumed that Noorazlan took 6 days to complete his on-foot journey.

Google Maps puts a duration of 3 days to walk from the Skudai Toll Plaza to Istana Negara but that is if a person were to walk non-stop.

Looking at Noorazlan’s 6 days, it does make sense.

However some believe it was a scam.

In his TikTok videos covering his journey, Noorazlan always had a black face mask on.

There are also videos of him being helped by people he encountered along the way.
