With Ramadan in full swing and Hari Raya Aidilfitri about three weeks away, this is also the season for heartwarming adverts.
Saji’s advertisement ‘Sabar’ (patience) that was released recently showcases Ramadan being a month of patience, forgiveness and kindness while winning the hearts of many.
The advertisement showed two girls who were having trouble with their car in the middle of traffic and how the people at a mosque nearby offered to help them.
The two girls ended up joining the mosque’s congregation for breaking fast while waiting for a mechanic to fix their car.
The story in the advertisement reminds us of the importance of being patient and the joy in sharing with others not only food but way of life.
The advertisement featured rocker and actor Awie.
When the advertisement hit social media pages, it was welcomed with praises for telling a meaningful story during a significant month of the year.

However, some found the story familiar.
A Twitter user known as @bestfoodkl tagged @TKLetchumy and said that it reminded them of a story that was tweeted by Letchumy in April last year.
Ini macam kisah @TKLetchumy jer 🧐 https://t.co/Ty25qzrek8— best food KL (@bestfoodKL) March 26, 2023
Last year, Letchumy on her Twitter account, told the story of how her car broke down during the fasting month near a surau.
According to the Saji Malaysia Official page, the Sabar advertisement was indeed inspired from a true story but they did not mention names.
No matter what is being stated or not, the advertisement has successfully portrayed the beauty and uniqueness of Malaysians.
