Lee Zii Jia posted what read like a frustrated Instagram story after his defeat to world No 49 Lee Chia Hao yesterday at the 2023 German Open.

It was a nail-biting match between the world No. 4 and Chia Hao, with the match extending to the third set.

Zii Jia had a hard time against his opponent as he had to drag the game to the third set with a win of 22-20. However, he could not keep up with Chia Hao in the final set when he lost 21-23.

As reported by the News Strait Times, including this match, Zii Jia has failed to get past the round of 16 in six successive tournaments.

The post in his Instagram story, which said “I’m f***ing done”, shows the frustration that he had with the outcome of the match.

Zii Jia has faced many setbacks since his exit from the national team.

Netizens reshared his post on other social media platforms, which then saw many giving the shuttler words of encouragement.

One of them said that he should find the right solution and keep on fighting.

Never give up! Change & find the right solution, then work it out. Be a fighter like your best friend. Bangkit!

Another commented that it is time for him to change his coach and look for someone who has more experience.

Dont give up. Relax and think. Sudah tiba masanya dapatkan coach yang berpengalaman luas dan mampu bentuk strategi yang baru . Jumpa pakar psikology, jangan layan media sosial sebab ramai yg negatif kritik.

The support from the people shows that they still have Zii Jia’s back and they are hopeful for a comeback.

However, the process of bouncing back is entirely in is hands and let us all hope that he does perform better in the upcoming tournaments.
