Flash floods hit many states in our country and the wellbeing of the victims is a big responsibility on the shoulders of those in power.

Wee Ka Siong who is the Ayer Hitam MP posted a video on his social media pages about the quality of food given to the flood victims in his constituency.

Wee recorded the video at Sekolah Agama Taman Kota, Yong Peng when he went to visit the 105 families taking shelter there.

In the video, Wee remarked that the people in his constituency were better off cooking for themselves in a “rewang” or gotong-royong manner with the supplies that are already available.

According to Wee, the breakfast arrived at 11am while the lunch was distributed at about 2pm.

In the video Wee also stated that the people in his constituency were able to cook for themselves with the supplies that he has prepared for them.

He also urged the government to take the matter seriously and provide food with better quality for the flood victims as there were 22 evacuation centres sheltering some 5,000 victims in his constituency alone.

He added that it was also important for the food to be delivered on time as there were people who needed to eat on time due to their health reasons.

Wee claimed that there were people who suffered from gastric pains due to eating late.
