The mother said in an interview with New Strait Times that she and her other relatives did not expect this from the suspect.

According to her, her son-in law is a good man and the victim’s family considered him as their own son. She also mentioned that the couple met each other when her daughter was doing her practical training a few years ago at the Perlis police headquarters in the field of forensic management.

Even though her son-in-law had never displayed any signs of anger, Che Mas thought that he was depressed over the past few years.

She shared an incident where he once drove aimlessly alone on the highway during the previous Hari Raya Aidiladha until his car ran out of fuel. He later came out of the vehicle and performed his prayers at the side of the road before sobbing hysterically.

Safsufarnisya had to call her husband’s employer to ask for assistance in finding him.
