In a response to the post which has since gone viral, the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) told The Rakyat Post that their investigation which was done after receiving a notice of the accident from Muhammad Hazreeq Abu Hassan’s employer on 28 September 2022, found that there was a personal detour involved.

He was involved in a road accident while on the way from his workplace after finishing work and had made a detour for personal reasons before returning home.

PERKESO added investigations found that the case was not a Work Related Disaster (BbK) based on Muhammad Hazreeq’s statement, police reports, as well as employer’s information, in line with Section 24(2) of the Employees’ Social Security Act 1969 (Act 4).

Muhammad Hazreeq filed an appeal and PERKESO informed that its headquarters is currently reviewing his case based on additional information received from the Melaka PERKESO office, where the first claim was filed.

The office of PERKESO’s chief executive will make a final decision after the review is completed soon.
