People living in Johor, Pahang, and Sarawak have been asked to brace themselves for the possibility of flash floods over the next 12 hours.
The Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) said this is based on an analysis of MetMalaysia’s rain forecast.
The forecast predicted that flash floods could hit the areas in the event of heavy rain or thunderstorms.
DID reminded those in flood-prone areas to make necessary preparations and precautions.

In Johor, continuous rainfall is expected from 12am to 10pm on 1 March. The flood “hotspot” areas in Johor include Batu Pahat, Pontian, Kluang, Kota Tinggi, Johor Baru and the Kulai district.
In Pahang, continuous rainfall is expected from 6am on 1 March until 8am the next day in the Rompin district.
Kuching districts such as Samarahan and Mukah are also expected to experience flash floods.
