B40 families in Bukit Gasing do not have to go through the hassle of going to a clinic anymore as they can get medical consultation through their phone with the Doctor Anywhere App for only RM5.

Bukit Gasing assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakaran, in announcing the initiative said this was to help ease the burden of residents.

The initiative is a partnership between the Bukit Gasing assemblyman’s office and Doctor Anywhere Malaysia.

In a tweet, Doctor Anywhere Malaysia said, “Bukit Gasing residents can now consult a doctor online at RM15 while B40 residents’ video consultation rate will be subsidized to RM5 only! Any medication required will be delivered to resident’s home in 1 hour.”

According to Rajiv, there will be 50 doctors on standby to treat the patients from 6am to midnight on a daily basis. Through this app, there will so be consultations by specialists.

Residents can also purchase the medicines prescribed to them by the doctors within the app or at any nearby pharmacies.

A legally valid medical certificate (MC) will also be provided to patients if they qualify for one.

For those who wish to claim the consultation fee from their companies, a receipt will also be provided.

“So by getting everyone to go to the government clinic, what happens is the government clinics become overcrowded, they are full.”

Rajiv also stated that he has been to the Klinik Kesihatan Taman Medan a few times over the years and even consulted a doctor there just to experience it, and he said that he had to wait for hours.

In an interview with Malaysian Insight, he said that through the app, the people can avoid the trouble of travelling, finding a parking and waiting in line to see a doctor which can be very time consuming.

Using such technology is the start in the medical line in our country.

Rajiv hopes that the Ministry of Health will pick up on this and will make such an initiative more accessible to everyone in the future.
