A 19-year-old local male college student was caught on camera throwing a bag of rubbish into Sungai Penaga, Sunway, on Friday (10 February).
In the Tiktok video, the boy in a blue shirt and shorts could be seen exiting from the passenger side of a red Perodua Ativa to retrieve the bag of rubbish from the car boot.
He then threw the white plastic bag into the river before getting back to the car and leaving the scene of the crime.

Subang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the culprit stepped forward to help with the investigation on the same day, Harian Metro reported.
Initial investigations revealed that the boy threw away Indian sweets used as prayer offerings such as ladoo and barfi.
The police are investigating the case under Rule 52 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (Rule 52 LN 166/59), which carries a fine of up to RM300.
Any witnesses are encouraged to come forward and contact the lead investigator from IPD Subang Jaya, Inspector Mohamad Hamdan Jeramatin at 019-4642222.
Netizens criticise the littering habit
The video garnered criticisms online from netizens who disagreed with some Malaysians’ habit of littering.
They also pondered why some people would litter and not dispose of their trash properly.
A netizen said the culprits could have driven to a mall or a rubbish dump to get rid of their trash.
Others called for the litterbug to be given the maximum fine for polluting the river.
Previously, there was a similar case of a lorry driver stopping by the roadside to throw litter into the river last year.

It’s unfortunate that some Malaysians are not civic conscious and show little to no care for the environment despite the effort put into public service announcements and education.
Based on the comments, littering seems to be still a widespread issue among people in Malaysia.
Hopefully, something could be done about it and a good change will take place.

FIKIRKAN lah.

Just curious eh, kenapa buang dekat sungai?

Takda kesedaran sivik langsung budak2 skrg…

should be given the maximum fine for polluting the river..
