A witness noticed a black Hilux plunged into a lake behind the Haji Fisabilillah Mosque, Cyberjaya, last night (11 February).

Upon inspecting the vehicle, they noticed an object resembling a fully clothed human body floating in the lake about three metres away.

The witness alerted the police about the incident at about 10.15pm.

According to New Straits Times, the IPD Sepang Criminal Investigation Department together with the forensic team found the body of a man in the lake.

The victim, described as a stout man, was clad in a black t-shirt, black jeans and a belt.

The Cyberjaya Fire and Rescue Station were called to retrieve the body.

Investigations revealed that the victim sustained five cuts on his head, and his left wrist was almost fully severed.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

It’s said the area around the lake is unfenced, free to enter, and is a popular fishing spot.

Netizens suggested the local authorities install CCTV to monitor activities at the lake for the safety of everyone there.

Others wondered why there was no surveillance in the quiet area in such an expensive township, while some jokingly said Cyberjaya at night could be known as our very own Gotham City.

They are also worried that property value in Cyberjaya could tank if the crimes in the area are not dealt with.
