The Ampang Line LRT service experienced delays this morning due to safety concerns following damage to the structure near the Bandaraya Station, as announced by RapidKL at 6.39 am.

Based on preliminary observations, a crack was observed at the flyover structure possibly due to construction works near the area.

RapidKL shared several pictures of the structure damage on their Twitter account.

As a safety precaution, Rapid Rail decided to close the route between Masjid Jamek Station and Bandaraya Station until the stability and safety of the structure can be ensured.

Delays & Alternative Routes

Because of this, the speed of the Ampang Line LRT service will also be reduced and cause slight delays.

Consequently, trains from Putra Heights are rerouting to Plaza Rakyat while trains from Sentul Timur are rerouting to Bandaraya Station.

Estimated waiting times for trains from Ampang and Putra Height to Hang Tuah Station are around 6 minutes inside the Central Business District and 12 minutes outside the Central Business District.

Meanwhile, trains from Sentul Timur will turn back to Bandaraya Station on Platform 2 with a train frequency of 6 minutes.

In addition, the intermediate train from Hang Tuah station to Masjid Jamek station on Platform 2 will have a frequency of 7 minutes.
