Police Investigate Hidden Camera Claims In Fitting Room Of Boutique At KL Mall

A netizen shared the hidden camera footage showing clips of shoppers trying on clothes in a fitting room, prompting other netizens to remind everyone to be careful.

A Twitter user revealed that there was a hidden camera in the fitting room of a shopping mall in Jalan Imbi.

The hidden camera managed to capture clips of shoppers trying on clothes and various stages of undress.

Netizens reminded each other to avoid going to the shop for the time being while the authorities are alerted.

The post, which has since been removed, garnered 3,080 retweets and 90 quote tweets before it was removed.

Dang Wangi police received a report lodged by the security manager of the outlet in the mall on 9 January 2023 around 4.38pm regarding the issue.

Dang Wangi OCPD Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya said police have searched the outlet but could not find the camera.

The police believe the footage could have been recorded in another location, The Star reported.

The case has been classified under Section 509 of the Penal Code for intentionally insulting the modesty of any woman by word, through sound, gesture, or object.
